About Chase

I have a deep passion for barbering! And that’s not just for the craft itself.

I truly believe that the haircut experience is so much more than just your average quick service cut. For me, it’s a chance to connect with the person in my chair, helping them relax and take their minds off of the noise of life.

My goal is for every client to leave my shop feeling sharp and ready to lead at home and work with confidence—knowing they were served well by capable and caring hands.

This passion started early. I was one of those kids who was particular about how his hair looked. I can still remember the first barbershop I went to as a boy in California—the smell of the aftershave, the hum of the clippers, the bench full of guys waiting their turn. When that barber retired, I ended up at chain haircut establishments, and the results weren’t great. Bad cut after bad cut motivated me to start cutting my own hair, and before long I was cutting my friends’ hair too. In high school, five or six buddies would show up before dances or games, and I’d line them up in the garage. Payment came in the form of pizza or burritos, but I loved the work!

Years later, after working in the restaurant industry, I felt a pull to do something with purpose. My faith in Jesus played a big part in that decision. Barbering gave me a way to serve people and build real relationships. I enrolled at Urban Barber College in 2015 and soon after graduating, I was behind the chair full time. By 2017, I was given the opportunity to open my own shop in Livermore, California. And that’s when Cut to the Chase began.

I’ve also been blessed to use barbering to give back. I’ve cut hair for the homeless through Monthly Miracles and City Impact, worked with kids with special needs at A Night to Shine (of the Tim Tebow Foundation), and helped with local outreach events like Beautiful Feet and Beards and Brews. Those experiences have been some of the most meaningful experiences of my career.

I blend classic barbershop traditions with modern techniques, creating cuts that feel clean, fresh, and custom for every client. I’m committed to staying sharp myself—taking classes, studying barbers I respect, and keeping up with trends so I can keep delivering my best. So whether you’re looking for a modern mullet, textured fringe, or a traditional cut, I got you covered. I pay attention to the details—your hair growth patterns, the shape of your head, your preferences and lifestyle—so you get a cut that feels like it was made for you because…it was.

In 2023, my family and I moved to Knoxville, Tennessee, where I’ve started building something special a second time around. Knoxville feels like home. I love the balance here—the beauty of the Smokies in the distance, the strong sense of community, and the slower pace that makes life feel grounded. It reminds me of the rolling hills I grew up around in California, but with a warmth and hospitality all its own. I’ve found the people here to be genuine and supportive—something I truly value.

Barbering is about far more than clippers and shears to me. It’s about trust. It’s about helping men look and feel their best in a way that carries into every part of life. That’s what drives me every day I get behind that chair.
